iPad available in the UK from 28th May

Apple iPad

Apple today announced that they plan to make the iPad available in nine more countries – including the UK – on the 28th of May. Pre-Orders go live on May 10th, with prices ranging from £429 for the 16GB, Wi-Fi Only option, to £699 for the 64GB, Wi-Fi+3G Option. Rumours suggest that mobile phone networks may offer the iPad at a subsidised price when taken with a contract, but this is yet to be confirmed by Apple or the Networks themseleves.

Hello World!

My Twitter page, just a lot smaller and at a funny angle

Hello (again) World! My name is Mitchel Moriarty, and this is my brand new blog.

After leaving the old one to stagnate for over a year, I’ve decided to start again from scratch. This time i’ve ditched the crappy, self-made theme I had before, and switched to using Colourise by Theme Lab for a much better looking, more professional approach.

So a lot has happened in the year or so since I last posted. We’ve had a new iPhone (The 3G[S]) as well as the HTC Hero and Desire, three of my favourite phones. Motorola have risen from the grave and moved their focus towards Android. We’ve seen 3D become more mainstream and the success of Avatar in the cinema. Microsoft and Apple have both released new versions of their Operating Systems. Windows 7 in the Microsoft camp and OS X Snow Leopard for the Apple fanboys. More recently, we’ve seen months of rumor and speculation take form in Apple’s ‘revolutionary’ iPad, soon to launch this side of the Atlantic. In the near future, we’ll see the introduction of the iPhone V4 and hopefully some interesting new products from the Palm/HP merger.

All in all, this looks like a good year to be a tech blogger

Cheers,
Mitchel
